Sunpathi peak
Sunpathi peak is one of the best icy peaks located at eastern side of Nepal near to the boarder of Sikkim and Tibet. It lay on the Kanchenjunga Himalayan range; it is the best peak having overall view of Kanchenjunga and kumbhakarna (Janu) and the magnificent view of world third highest peak. Wild rugged covered by glaciers, massive and majestic icy peak are the main aspect of this peak that capture travelers heart within its canvas. This peak is named as “Sunpathi” which mean as “Golden leaf” in English, this peak got this name because at the edge of the Yalunge glacier many Rhodondron bushes grow with same name. This trekking route lay on rural area so tent is only an option of accommodation within completely trekking period. That’s why it is also called camping trek.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in TIA, Kathmandu1310m welcome by Himalayan Nepal Trek transfer to hotel briefing stay at hotel on BB plan
Day 02: Trek preparation day stay at hotel on BB plan
Day 03: Flight to Biratnagar stay at hotel on BB plan
Day 04: Drive to Taplejung (2,420m) 8-9 hrs stay at Lodge
Day 05: Trek to Thembewa (1,880m) 5 hrs stay at tea house
Day 06: Trek to Kesewa (1,960m) 6-7 hrs stay at tea house
Day 07: Trek to Phumpe Dada (1,860m) 6 hrs stay at tea house
Day 08: Trek to Sherpa Gaun (1,740m) 6-7 hrs stay at tea house
Day 09: Trek to Torongten via Lashetham (3,646m) and then descend to Torongten (2,980m) 8-9 hrs stay at tea house
Day 10: Trek to Tseram (3,868m) 5 hrs stay at tea house
Day 11: Acclimatization day
Day 12: Trek to Ramche (4,610m) 5 hrs stay at tea house
Day 13: Trek to Oktang Near Temple stay at Tent
Day 14: Climbing to Sunpati Peak 5500m summit then back to Oktang Camp
Day 15: Trek to Torongten (2,980m) 6 hrs stay at tea house
Day 16: Trek via Lashetham (3,646m) and Sherpa Gaun (1,740m) 7-8 hrs stay at tea house
Day 17: Trek to Phumpe Dada (1,860m) 6 hrs stay at tea house
Day 18: Trek to Kade Vanjayang (1,890m) 6-7 hrs stay at tea house
Day 19: Trek to Lali Kharka (2,266m) 6-7 hrs stay at tea house
Day 20: Trek to Suketar (2,420m) 5 hrs stay at tea Lodge
Day 21: Flight to Kathmandu via Biratnagar and farewell dinner together stay at hotel on BB plan
