Milke Danda Trek is elongated and elevated forest trek in Tamur Valley and Arun in the Eastern part of Nepal. This trek is completely away from the so called Himalayas. We trek through a lush valley, Sub tropical and touch a bit of coniferous forest. Basically, this trek is for the students and family who are interested to experience the beautiful green valley and remote settlements of Nepal.

Milke Danda Trek like another trekking package it will illustrate the immense outlook of numerous peaks counting Makalu (8,463m) and Kanchenjunga (8,586m) but from this danda, you will get to view the pleasant landscapes during your tour Nepal. The starting point of Milke Danda Trek is Basantapur or Tumlingtar. Likewise, you will be connected with us for 7 to 14 days seeing your availability. The trek grade is said to be easy and the maximum elevation that it covers is 3,690 meter. Seeing your preference you can either stay in hotel/ lodge or tented camp. Trekking in Milke Danda is so much of fun mainly in spring season because at that time the area is covered with thriving Rhododendron. Consequently, it is recognized as Rhododendron trek as well.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival TIA Kathmandu Airport 1310m, welcome by Himalayan Nepal Trek staff transfer to Hotel briefing stay at hotel BB Plan.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley Patan,  Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Basantapur (2,200m) via Dharan

Day 04: Trek to Chauki (2,700m) 5/6 hrs stay at Lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Ghupha Pokharai (2,930m) 5/6 hrs stay at Lodge.

Day 06: Trek to Milke Danda 6/7 hrs stays at the tent.

Day 07: Exploration

Day 08: Trek to Bhalukhop 5/6 hrs stays at the tent.

Day 09: Trek to Jaljala 5/6 hrs stays at the tent.

Day 10: Trek to Chainpur 5/6 hrs stays at Lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Phapung 5/6 hrs stay at Lodge

Day 01: Arrive in TIA, Kathmandu

As you land on Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will be received by the representative staff from Himalaya Nepal Trek with a proper greeting. Then, afterward, you will be transferred to hotel where you will learn the detailed itinerary. We can change the set itinerary as per your feasibility. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

On the second day, you will move to know the Kathmandu valley through the mode of sightseeing after breakfast. As a part of seeing the site, you will visit in Pashupatinath and Boudhanath which are listed in the World Heritage Sites. Pashupatinath is the symbol of Hinduism where as Boudhanath represents the Buddhism even though people visit each other with great respect. Then, you will return to the hotel. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Basantapur (2,200m) via Dharan

Completing the sightseeing in Kathmandu today you will take drive towards Basantapur which is situated at an elevation of 2,200 meters via Dharan. These two are the beautiful places of Eastern Region where you can view the crowd of trekkers. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Chauki (2,700m)

On the following day, you will depart from Basantapur to head Chauki which is situated at 2,700 meters. On the way, you will move towards the forest of Rhododendron with the overwhelming sight of Tamur Koshi, Arun Koshi, and Makalu. Then, you will move to Tude Deorali and ascend from there you will move all through Phedi and it eventually takes you to Chauki. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Ghupha Pokhari (2,930m)

Spending the night at Chauki today you will head towards Ghupha Pokhari which is found at an elevation of 2,930 meters. You will at first traverse ascend and then downward after crossing all through Manglebare, Baluchi, and Srimani. Afterward, the trekking trail will take you to two small lakes at Lamo Pokhara. Again crossing the Bamboo huts at Koranghatar and seeing additional lakes you will turn up to Ghupha Pokhari. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 06: Trek to Milke Danda (3,124m)

Heading from Ghupha Pokhari you will move to Milke Danda which is supposed to be the most significant day. You will trek to Milke Danda covering an altitude of 3,124 meters and afterward, you will return to Gupha Pokhari. It will further show the way to the small settlement to the sacred lakes where you can outlook massive sight of Rhododendron forest and Mount Makalu. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 07: Exploration

This is the day for exploration where you will move around the Milke Danda and try to capture new things. Moving head you will get to view the lovely sight of villages with the interesting settlement. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 08: Trek to Bhalukhop

Involving yourself in exploration you will move to trek Bhalukhop which is another prosperous village. Here, you will get lots of places to carry out the sightseeing and amazing forest that you have never imagined so far. Thus, you will give a new direction to your destination. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 09: Trek to Jaljala

On the following day, you will head to trek Jaljala from where you can view the panoramic land with bright wild blossom, a forest of Rhododendron and green pastureland. Jaljala is also known for viewing Mount Sisne, Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Putha and Mount Annapurna. Being one of the pilgrimage sites most of the people come here to show their respect. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Chainpur

On the following day, you will move from Jaljala to Chainpur which is supposed to be another destination to precede the trek. You will feel good throughout the trekking to Chainpur and the trekking trail is not tricky. Arriving in Chainpur you will inward for your stay. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Phapung

Leaving Chainpur today you will move towards Phapung where you will take upward and then downward movement. Arriving in Phapung you will take a deep breath and look around the environment and you could not stop yourself from admiring the landscapes. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Tumlingtar

The journey from Phapung to Tumlingtar is very amazing and the trail is so cherished with the prosperous ethnic assortment and it involves the people like Brahmin, Sherpa, and Rai. The trekking trail will capture the scene with arriving at the altitude of 3,124 meters. Stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 13: Flight to Kathmandu and evening farewell

In an early morning, you will take a flight to Kathmandu from Tumlingtar Airport. This will be the joyous adventurous flight. Arriving in TIA you will be picking up and then again transferred to the hotel where you can enjoy the comfortable bed. In the evening you will return to hotel completing the short sightseeing to take part in farewell dinner. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 14: Departure!!!!

Spending 14 days on this day you will return your home town. You will be transferred to the airport safely and then depart from us.

AIRPORT PICKUP AND DROP

The representative will be there outside the Terminal Hall with Himalayan Nepal Trek logo along with your name thereon. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel.

TRANSPORTATION

We use a mix of native buses and taxis, non-public mini buses for city sightseeing and airport pickups and generally land cruisers for journeys into the mountains. The selection of auto will depend upon the scale of your group.

ACCOMMODATION

We book a hotel as per your preference but basically, we use 3* standard rooms in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We serve you twin sharing rooms and King bed for a couple. We use Lodges throughout the trek with twin bed room and sharing. 

SAFETY

Safety is our first priority; our team puts best effort to minimize the risk. We take care of any emergency that may occur within the path. First aid kit, oxygen bag and eventually emergency rescue via chopper are always ready just in case of an emergency. Besides we manage threat with rest days and our staffs will be there to advise you.

EQUIPMENT

Weather condition may invite the requirement of some equipment like crampons, trekking poles, raincoat etc. So, we tend to request you to carry only need types of equipment. Down jacket, trouser Ti-shirt, boot, knife, walking steak, lightweight bag, sunglass, gloves, suns cream, warm socks, head light, wind proof jacket etc.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Common to experience some discomfort before you become absolutely acclimatized to the altitude. Most treks are suitable for anyone who is moderately matched. No previous experience is needed. Some cardiovascular physical fitness programs like regular walking, running, swimming and hiking are necessary to increase the performance. Participants with pre-existing medical condition or diseases should look for a medical recommendation before considering a trek.

CHARGING BATTERY

Electricity will not always be available, particularly in additional remote areas. Carry a second set of charged batteries with you.

COMMUNICATION FACILITIES

During the trek, it’s not possible to get a connection every where but there are certain places throughout the trek wherever you get the surplus over internet and telecommunication. We offer you satellite phone as per your preference. You can use our guide cell phone to communicate if you don't have your own number, they welcome you anytime.

You can rely on credit cards in Cities however once we tend to begin trek we solely use the cash. Ensure that you just take spare Nepalese rupees. Dollars, Euros, and Pounds will be accepted.

Visa fees are:

US$ 25/40/100 for 15 days/30 days/90 days multiple entries that are collectible solely in USD money. The maximum number of days should be included in the section about extending a trek.

Our company ensures all of our trekking staff: Guides, Cooks, Sherpa’s and Porters. 

PORTER SERVICE

15kg of baggage per person and porter carries 30Kg. you need to carry a small day bag with personal belongings, camera, water, windproof jacket, glass and sun cream and rain clothing etc.

WEATHER

We cannot predict the atmospheric condition in the Himalayas, weather pattern keeps on changing through the day. Nights are very cold and days are higher primarily trekking in Nepal we tend to recommend during March-May and September- Gregorian calendar month.
