Hidden  village: Gurja khani
 
Gurja khani is one of the best hidden villages in the Nepal. It is awesome because it is so hidden and untouched. It is preserved natural beauty with various tenders and unexploited wild life, eastwards access to this village blocked by an impenetrable gorge; westward lays the high- altitude wilderness of the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, and in northern ward   the majestic south face of Gurja Himal- 7kms high, 10kms horizontal from hidden village.  You can find your self back to the time when life used to depend on land because people still depend upon the generosity of nature and the resources fullness of the local availability.
 
To have a unique and adventurous experience hidden village is the best place because it hasn’t been fully discovered. To enjoy the encounter with local people and ensure that most of your expenditure goes to help those most in need and also to enjoy the close up view of great rang of Dhaulagiri trekking to Gurja Himal  is better then best option. Following are the list of tourism activities that can be done in Gurja khani:
Walk to Gurja Himal view point (1 hour’s returns) and sheepfold at Khegas (2 hour’s to returns).
guided walk:- cliff bird watching, honey hunting ( entering the tunnels is entirely at your own risk)
trek to Churen base camp and glacier (3 day returns)
pony trekking( hourly, half day, full day basis)
Cultural program organized by youth club and mother group.
 
Trekking route to hidden village
Hidden village is best place for trekking. This site includes 4 trekking route which are as follows:

1. Baglung to Gurja khani via Gurjaghat and Gurja khani to Darbang via lulang
After reaching Baglung from pokhara though bus trek start. This trek include two passes, Gurja Ghat Deorali and Rugachaur and several minors one. It takes 8 -9 days to complete this trek.
1st day: Baglung to Okhle (7 hours crossing Raato maato, Dikichaur, kalimati, Bhim Pokhara, Sima, Majh Kateri and finally Okhle)
2nd day: Okhle to Tarakhola gaon or Phedi (6-7 hours crossing Sirkhu, Halpu, Waba, Bhat khane dhara and Tarakhola gaon)
3rd day: Phedi to Rum (5 hours)
4th day: Rum to Bonga Dobhan (7 hours crossing Pakhapani, lammela, Taman, bonga Dobhan).
5th day: Bonga Dobhan Gurja Ghat (8+hours Bonga khani followed by lamachaur to Gurja Ghat)
6th day: Gurja Ghat to Gurja khani vie Rugachaur pass (at 3900 m after 8 hours walk).
7th day: Gurja khani to lulang (8 hours) no habitation between lulang to Gurja khani except one teashop. Occasional snow on pass December to January but the pass is normally open.
8th day: lulang to Dharapani   (5-6 hours) following main trial heading northwest passing village of Takam, Sibang, Machim and phalegaon (2.45 hours) up to the large village of lulang (2.45 hours).
9th day: Dharapani to Pokhara-  (5 hours bus +1.45 hours trek)

 Baglung to Gurja khani to tatopani via Gurjaghat and Lulang Itinerary [16days]
Day 01: Arrival TIA Kathmandu (1310), welcome by Himalayan Nepal Trek staff than transfer to hotel on BB plan.
Day 02:  Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley Patan, Pashupathinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath & stay in hotel on BB plan.
Day 03:  Drive to Baglung 7 hrs stay in hotel.
Day 04: Treks to Okhle 2310m-7 hrs, Homestay.
Day 05:  Trek to Tarakhola gaon (local lodges) or Phedi (homestay) 2210m – 7 hrs.
Day 06:  Trek to Rum 1904m-7 hrs, home stay.
Day 07:  Trek to Bonga Dobhan  1420m, -7 hrs lodges
Day 08:  Trek to Gurja Ghat 3015m-8 hrs
Day 09: Trek to Gurja khani 3900m- 8 hrs Camping .
 
Day 10:  Trek to lulang 2450m, 6 hrs homestay.
 
Day 11:  Trek to Dharapani 2600m, 6.3 hrs, local lodges
 
Day 12:  Trek to Tatopani (hot spring) camping - 6 hrs
Day 13: Trek to Beni 5hrs and drive to pokhara stay in hotel
Day 14: Tour in pokhara valley whole day.
Day 15:  Drive to Kathmandu stay in hotel
Day 16: Transfer to airport for final departure.



2. Gurja khani to Darbang via dhorpatan.
Routes two include two passes, Rugachaur and jaljalla. It takes 3-4 days.  We can have views of western Dhaulagiri.
1st day: Gurja khani to Gurja Ghat (8-9 hours).
2nd day: Gurja Ghat to lumsung (7 hours).
3rd day: this follows days one and two route to reveres direction Darbang can be easily reached in one day from lumsung.
2.Darbang to Gurjakhani to tatopani via dhorpatan Itinerary [14days]
Day 01: Arrival TIA Kathmandu (1310), welcome by Himalayan Nepal Trek staff than transfer to hotel on BB plan.

Day 03:  Katmandu to Pokhara 7 hrs, stay in hotel.

Day 05:  Dharapani to Lulang 2450m (5-6 hours) homesaty.
Day 06:  Lulang to Gurjakhani 3900m (8 hours) camping.
Day 07:  Gurjakhani to Gurjaghat 3015m (8-9 hours) lodge.
Day 08:  Gurgaghat to Dhorpatan 2870m, Dhorpatan to Gurjaghat 3015m (8 hours) lodge.
Day 09: Gurjaghat to Lulang 2450m, 6 hrs homestay.
Day 10:  Lulang to Dharapani 2600m, 6.3 hrs, local lodges
 
Day 11:  Dharapani to Tatopani (hot spring) camping - 6 hrs
 
Day 12: Trek to Beni 5hrs and drive to pokhara stay in hotel
 
Day 13:  Tour in pokhara valley whole day.

3. Gurja khani to Darbang via the Dhaula canyon.
This route doesn’t have very high pass but a vertiginous descent. This route takes 3 days to complete.
1st day: Gurja khani to lower Arche (8 hours).
2nd day: Arche to Sibang (5-6 hours following trial around a precipitous cliff).
3rd day: Sibang to Darbang (4 hours this is same as day one and day two of route one in the reveres direction.)

Darbang to Gurjakhani to tatopani via dhaula canyon Itinerary [14days]

 4. Mini trek Baglung to Tatopani
This small 2 days mini trek it include one pass Dhamja pass. The panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges during the descent on day two are among the best in Nepal.
1st day:  Baglung to Okhle (7 hours).
2nd day: Okhle to Tatopani (4 hours).

Baglung to tatopani mini trek Itinerary [9 days trek]

TRIP HIGHLITS:

BEST SEASON:
Though there is no particular season as all the season are favorable for trekking to Nepal. We would suggest during atom season it would be best to travel between end of September to end of November and during spring beginning of January to April last week.
