Everest Three High Pas Trek 21 Days

Three High Pass Trek is The most challenging trek in Nepal, rough trail and high altitude pass. Renjo La Pass (5,338m), Chola La pass (5,368m) and Khongma La Pass (5,535m), are the name of the pass. It is popular trekking high pass for adventure seekers, who like to explore the high Himalayas closely.This trek offers views of five out of eight highest mountains in the world namely Cho Oyu (8,201m), Everest (8,848m), Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516 m) and many other mountains. Three high pass stroll through every beautiful spot of Everest Region. Explore Gokyo Valley and get views of Ngozumba Glacier which is the longest glacier of Nepal starting from Cho-Oyu Mountain. When you trek clockwise from Namche towards north to Renjo Pass, you will experience the first pass and see Gokyo valley and lakes, with panoramic mountain views. Likewise, Chola Pass and Kongma La pass adds more to your journey in Nepal Trek.

Three High Pass trek is a prepared Itinerary, starting from Lukla and progresses through Phakding to Namche from where it changes its course from the main Everest trail by heading towards Thame. The least crowded and quaint villages and engage with friendly Sherpas is one of the basic experiences. Trekking in Nepal: Himalaya destinations 

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu (1310m), Transfer to hotel (B.B.)

Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will proceed through custom and visa formalities and then a representative from Himalayan Nepal Trek Pvt. Ltd. will receive you. You will be transferred to the luxurious hotel in Kathmandu with Bed and Breakfast plan. You will get briefing regarding your trek package and then enjoy the delicious meal before spending your night in a hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla (2827m) Flight, Trek to Phakding (2610m)

You will meet with your team members in the morning at our office.  You will then be escorted to Tribhuvan Airport, Domestic terminal from where you will take 30 minutes long Kathmandu- Lukla flight. Enjoy the mountain flight with breath-taking views of Ganesh, Langtang, Nuptse,(7,861m. and 25,791ft.), Thamserku,(6,623m and 21,729ft.)Lhotse(8,516m. and 27,940ft.),Cho- Oyu(8,201m. and 26,906ft.), Everest(8,848m. and 29,029ft.)and other peaks and mountains. The plane lands at Tenjing-Hillary Airport in Lukla (2,840 m). Assemble the crew and start your Everest View Trek. Cross Dudhkoshi River and walk through Ghat village to Phakding (2,610m).

Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Continue to follow Dudhkoshi River for about 2hrs. Traverse the pine and oak forest and arrive at the suspension bridge. Cross Benkar to arrive at Monjo village which is known for having Entrance Gate to Sagarmatha National Park. Move further through Jorsale to Army Camp and arrive at Namche Bazaar (3,440m).  

Day 04: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar, Visit Everest Lodge

This is a rest day intended to help us in preventing from High Altitude Sickness. We will visit Everest View Lodge for the first close-up view of the highest mountain in the world. After taking pictures and having breakfast, we will return to Namche. Everest View Lodge is the hotel located at world’s highest place. 

Day 05: Namche to Thame (3,800m)

Leave Namche and head north-west to Nangpo Drangpo valley which is also known as Bhote Koshi Valley. Move through rhododendron forest with a fine view of Kwangde Peak and waterfalls. Get views of Thamserku and Kusum Kangru and reach Thame village. Visit Thame Gompa and stay overnight in Thame. 

Day 06: Thame to Marunlung (4,200m)

Leaving the main trail for Everest, we will explore the secular Thame village. After half an hour of the trek, we will arrive at pretty small Tangmote Village. Lower down from Tangmote and pass through chorten and mani walls to Yarlung Village on the other side of Bhotekoshi.  Couple of hours of walk above Bhotekoshi will take us to Tharngga Village that is located at 4,000m/13,100ft. Houses in Tharngga is built out of stones. The village offers views of Kwongde Ri peak. An hour of a walk will take us to Marlung.

Day 07: Marunlung to Lunden (4300m)

Follow the short yet difficult rising path from Marlung to Lunden. The path is pebble-strewn and marked a few points by arrowheads. Stay overnight at Lunden. There are tea houses available in Lunden.

Day 08: Lunden to Rejo-la pass (5360m) to Gokyo (4800m)

Lower down to Renjola Pass. Take the difficult ascent of Renjo La and enjoy the unmatched mountain views. Cross the bridge over the river and reach the valley that lies near to the first lake of Gokyo which is called Longpongo. Visit the second lake of Taboche Tsho and third lake. Walking further, reach Gokyo village that lies nearby third lake and Cho-Oyu Mountain. Enjoy the views of Cho Oyu Mountain, Gyachung Kang Peak, Lhotse Mountain, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawache peak.

Day 09: Reserve Day for hike to Gokyo Ri and Fifth Lake

This is a rest day. An hour of difficult climb will take us to the top of Gokyo Ri peak that is decorated with prayer flags and cairn. We can get views of Nepal’s largest Ngozumpa glacier and view of the fourth lake named as Thonak Tsho and fifth lake named as Ngozuma Tsho. Gokyo Ri summit enthralls us with views of Cho you, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu.

Day 10: Gokyo to Thanak (4700m)

Lower down from Gokyo and arrive at Thaknak. The path is scenic with views of Gokyo Lake. We need to move through Gokyo Glacier and in about 4hrs, we will reach Thaknak where we will stay overnight.

Day 11: Thaknak to Cho-la Pass (5360m) to Dzong-la (4830m)

This is going to be a difficult trek. We will cross Cho La Pass with the help of climbing equipment like crampons and axe. A couple of hours of climbing will take us to the top of Chola Pass from where we can get views of Lhotse, Makalu and other peaks and mountains. Descend from Cho La Pass summit and move towards Dzong La where we will stay overnight. 

Day 12: Dzong La to Lobuche (4910m)

Head east and follow the trail that runs below the Cholatse Peak with a scenic view of Amadablam Mountain. Walking further, we will arrive at a ridge that offers a scenic view of Dughla Lake. A couple of hours of walk from the ridge will take us to Lobuche (4910m). Few tea houses are located in between meadow and the Lobuche peak. We can enjoy the views of Tawoche and Nuptse Mountains from Lobuche.

Day 13: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m)

Walk through the glacial moraine. Get unobstructed views of Khumbu glacier. Moving further, the path allows close-up views of Pumori, Nuptse, and other mountains. We will arrive at Gorakshep in about 3hrs. The original Everest Base Camp was at Gorakshep. We will reach the new Everest Base Camp site. Explore the area and enjoy the mountain views. Return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.

Day 14: Gorakshep to Kalapattar to Lobuche

Trek on 14th day begins at around 3 am as we do not want to miss the sunrise view from Kalapattar. Kalapattar is the best viewpoint in Everest which allows views of Everest, Khumbatse, Pumori, Cho-Oyu, Khumbu Glacier and Amadablam Mountains. We will return back to Gorakshep and return to Lobuche for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Lobuche to Kongma-La Pass (5,535m) to Chhukung (4,730m)

The brief climb will take us to a wide valley. We will follow the trail that descends to Kongma La Pass. The path is decorated with prayer flags. We will climb the Kongnma La Pass and enjoy views of surrounding mountains. Lowering down from the pass, we will arrive at the eastern side of Niyang Khola valley. We can get views of Island Peak and Amphu Lapcha Pass before arriving at Chhukung.

Day 16: Chhukung to Tyangboche 3860m, 5 /6 hours overnight at Lodge

Lowering down to Imja Khola valley, we will arrive at Dingboche village. Moving along the stone houses and potato fields, we will reach Kharka of Tsura. Continuing further, we will walk past Orsho and Shomare to Pangboche village. Enjoy the views of Amadablam, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse as we head towards We visit the Buddhist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region.

Day 17: Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3430m)

Cross the bridge over Dudhkoshi River and reach Kyangjuma. Three routes are branched at Kyangjuma. We will choose the trail that takes us to Namche Bazaar. The trail crosses verdant forest that is rich in wildlife. Stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m)

We will take the downhill trek to reach the bridge. Crossing the suspension bridge over Dudhkoshi River, we will reach Monjo. There lies a gate to Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. Stay overnight at Monjo village. Although a long walk, this is the exciting trek that follows through series of ups and downs. Walk through the flat land and go through rhododendron and pine forests. Occasional passing through dispersed Sherpa villages will lead us to Dudhkoshi River. Crossing the suspension bridge, we will reach Chheplung. Brief trek from Chheplung will take us to Lukla. 

Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu Flight 35min, Transfer to Hotel (B.B.)

Due to the weather condition, there exist the chances of flight cancellation in Lukla. If the weather remains fine, you will catch an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and arrive at Kathmandu in 30min from where you will be escorted to the hotel in Kathmandu. Enjoy the Farewell dinner amid the typical Nepal culture show and stay overnight at a Hotel.

Day 20: Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Farewell dinner in Evening

After breakfast, go for half day Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour. Visit world heritage sites of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath and then return to the hotel. Enjoy the farewell dinner with Typical Nepali Culture in evening.

Day 21: Departure

After last-minute preparation, you will be accompanied to Tribhuvan International Airport 3hours before the scheduled flight. Safe Journey

The representative will be there outside the Terminal Hall with Himalayan Nepal Trek logo along with your name thereon. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel.


We use a mix of native buses and taxis, non-public minibusses for city sightseeing and airport pickups and generally land cruisers for journeys into the mountains. The selection of auto will depend upon the scale of your group.


We book a hotel as per your preference but basically, we use 3* standard rooms in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We serve you twin sharing rooms and King bed for a couple. We use Lodges throughout the trek with twin bedroom and sharing. 


Safety is our first priority; our team puts best effort to minimize the risk. We take care of any emergency that may occur within the path. First aid kit, oxygen bag and eventually emergency rescue via chopper are always ready just in case of an emergency. Besides we manage threat with rest days and our staffs will be there to advise you.


Weather condition may invite the requirement of some equipment like crampons, trekking poles, raincoat etc. So, we tend to request you to carry only need types of equipment. Down jacket, trouser T-shirt, boot, knife, walking steak, lightweight bag, sunglass, gloves, suns cream, warm socks, head light, windproof jacket etc.


Common to experience some discomfort before you become absolutely acclimatized to the altitude. Most treks are suitable for anyone who is moderately matched. Three high pass trek demands cardiovascular physical fitness programs like regular walking, running, swimming and hiking are necessary to increase the performance. Participants with pre-existing medical condition or diseases should look for a medical recommendation before considering a trek.

Electricity will not always be available, particularly in additional remote areas. Carry a second set of charged batteries with you.


During the trek, it’s not possible to get a connection everywhere but there are certain places throughout the trek wherever you get the surplus over internet and telecommunication. We offer you satellite phone as per your preference. You can use our guide cell phone to communicate if you don't have your own number, they welcome you anytime. 


You can rely on credit cards in Cities however once we tend to begin trek we solely use the cash. Ensure that you just take spare Nepalese rupees. Dollars, Euros, and Pounds will be accepted.
