Everest Gokyo trek via Basa is one of the best trekking in Nepal. The route progresses through the remote, untouched terrain, hills, valley, people and culture, terraced farming, etc. This is the best way of exploring Everest region, if you are looking for an alternative way to Kathmandu to Lukla flight. This route is for those who are looking for least crowded area that includes Sherpa valleys, mountain views and diverse biodiversity.
Everest Gokyo Trek via Basa itinerary is drafted as a 24-days package that makes as the longest EBC trek package. It covers all of the major viewpoints in Everest including EBC, Gokyo RI and Kalapathar. Enough acclimatization days have been included in the itinerary for proper acclimatization.Get genuine observation of local Sherpa life and culture.
EBC Trek via Basa begins from Salleri, firstly we pass through Ratnagi pas than Serrga, Ghumne Mera to Mauri River & we will reach at Celestial land of Basa than follow the river of Dhdhkoshi through scattered settlement to Ghat. From Basa that connect main trail of the Everest at Ghat. You can observe flora & fauna at Sagarmatha National park, than reach at the center trade of Namche Bazaar. During your trek, you could have opportunities to explore and observe the Khumbu’s largest “Tengboche" Monastery and we will continue our journey to Everest Base Camp. Interestingly, we will enjoy the sunrise view from Kalapathar than enter at Gokyo valley. Finally we pass through Nangzubgba Glacier i.e. is the Nepal’s largest glaciated system than from Machhermo to Lukla we will fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival (1,310m), welcome by Himalayan Nepal Trek staff  Transfer to Hotel on BB plan

Day 20: Machhermo to Dole (4,110m)

Day 21:  Dole to Namche (3,440m) 5/6 hrs stay at Lodge
Day 22: Namche to Lukla (2,827m) 6/7 hrs stay at Lodge
Day 23:  Lukla to Kathmandu Flight 35min, Transfer to hotel evening dinner together in Nepali typical restaurant & stay at hotel on B&B plan
Day 24: Departure from kathmandu, representative will accompany you to airport.

Particular season for trekking is in-between March-May and September- November.  March – May which is spring season is highly recommended, weather is clean and favorable, we can see flowers like rhododendron and more Beside Himalayan Nepal trek welcomes you anytime.
Accommodation depends on trek type, weather tea house trek or camping trek we understand the value of comfort of our clients, we put our best to get the best accommodation based on availability since during main season route are very busy and full of tourist. Twin sharing bed will be provided during trek and also can find attach bathroom with charge extra.

Kathmandu; different cuisine as there are many international and continental restaurants. Thamail and Durbarmarg are very famous for Korean, Thai, Japanese and Italian, Nepali Dal Bhat and more. But during the trek we get to select continental, Nepali and Sherpa food from the menu.
 Our team is Capable, skilled, polite and cooperative.  Crew members are trained with ability to operate your trek in best possible ways to make our every moment full of happiness and love utilizing their past experiences. Objective of sustaining local communities, Himalayan Nepal Trek only employs  staff who has adequate knowledge about culture, ecosystem, flora, fauna, geography, and history of their local regions.
Equipment is mainly required of adventure sports, peak climbing and high passes but some times due to weather condition we might need some of the equipments like crampons, trekking poles, raincoat, water bottle etc.  So, we request you to carry only need equipments. Equipments include down jacket, trouser Ti-shirt, boot, knife, walking steak, light sleeping bag, sunglass, gloves, suns cream, warm socks, head light, wind proof jacket etc. we provide our staff with their need able equipments. for the safety and security.

Safety is our first priority; our team puts best effort to keep us away from danger. We are always ready to take control over any emergency that might occur in the trail. First aid kit, oxygen bag and eventually emergency rescue via helicopter are always ready in case of an emergency. Besides we also focus on prevention method to control threat, Acclimatization days Gamow bags can be very useful in the trekso that we can prevent from altitude sickness.

Experience required:
Trekking in Himalayas does require certain level of physical fitness and good health. We suggest you to undergo certain exercise like jogging and stretching before you arrive here. Participants having medical health issue are requested to visit the doctor.
Days in itinerary are always flexible. The service we provide will be according to guest desire so guest has any query can question us without hesitation. Trekking in Himalayas is challenging, there might be unexpected health problem or natural challenges in middle of the trek,In such case guest are requested to co-operate their guides.
 Itinerary of  Everest Gokyo Trek via Basa
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival (1310m), Transfer to Hotel (B.B.)
Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will proceed through custom and visa formalities and then representative from Himalayan Nepal Trek Pvt. Ltd. will receive you. You will be transferred to the luxurious hotel in Kathmandu with Bed and Breakfast plan. You will get briefing regarding your trek package and then enjoy the delicious meal before spending your night in a hotel. 

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Early in the morning, you will be provided with half day Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour during which you will visit UNESCO enlisted cultural heritage sites of Pashupatinath and Boudhanath including the holy Narayanthan Temple which is also known as Budhanilkantha Temple. Located in a tranquil atmosphere, you can witness the giant form of Lord Vishnu reclining in a snake bed at the middle of lake in Budhanilkantha.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Salleri
It takes 8 hrs of drive to reach Salleri from Kathmandu. Drive through the newly constructed road by enjoying the views of river, jungle, rustic villages and terraces. Cross the bridge at Sunkoshi River drive through Okhaldhunga. The route offers views of Dudhkunda, Everest and other mountains. Reach Salleri for overnight stay.

Day 04: Trek from Salleri to Basa
Trek begins from the Sherpa village of Salleri. Walk through Serga to Ghumne Mera. Cross Mera and lower down to the Mauri Khola. Crossing the river, follow the ascending trail to Basa.

Day 05: Rest day in Basa
It would be wise to take a day of rest at Basa. Side trip can be arranged to nearby monastery.  

Day 06: Basa to Kharikhola (2040m)
Enjoy the scenic view of Salleri. Move further to a ridge and get views of Lukla and Nunthala valley. Lower down through the forest to Nunthala village and descend to Dudhkoshi River. Cross the river and reach Jubing. 2 hrs of walk from Jubing will take us to Kharikhola.

Day 07: Kharikhola to Paiya (2730m) via Kare La Pass (3145m)
Once we cross kharikhola, we will follow the escalating path to reach kharte (2575m). We will move through the dispersed settlement at Ramite to arrive at kharitham (2990m). Moving further, we will cross Kare La Pass and lower down for couple of hours to reach Paiya where we will stay overnight.

Day 08: Paiya to Ghat (2592m)
Descend to Dudh koshi River by traversing the Surkya. Cross the river and follow the escalating path over northern ridge to arrive at Muse. Move further to arrive at Chauri kharka where we can see cattle grazing peacefully over a pastureland. Arrive at Ghat for overnight stay.

Day 09: Ghat to Namche (3440m)
It takes about 2hrs of walking to reach Phakding from Ghat.  Once we reach Phakding, we will proceed through forest of rhododendron and arrive at Monjo. Gate to Everest National Park exists in Monjo.  Walking further, we will cross Benkar and lower down through Army Camp to Namche. Namche is a major trade center and gateway to Everest region.   

Day 10: Acclimatization at Namche (3440m)
A day of rest will be taken at Namche so as to get acclimatized with the increased altitude. Drinking water and eating fresh fruits help in acclimatization. We can explore Namche Market or visit nearby Khunde or Khumjung village. Namche offers close-up view of Thamserku Mountain.

Day 11: Namche to Tengboche (3860m)
Take the uphill path to reach at a vantage point which gives scenic view of Dudhkoshi river valley in the east. Couple of hours of walk from the point will take us to Sanasha. The trail parts for Khumjung and Gokyo valley from Sanasha. Cross the suspension bridge over Dudhkoshi River and move further to Tengboche.

Day 12: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m)
Get close-up views of Everest, Lohtse and Nuptse from Tengboche. Visit Solukhumbu’s largest Tengboche monastery and receive blessing from Lamas. Lower down from forest to Dudhkoshi River and reach Pengboche village. Pass through Somare and cross Pheriche pass (4400m) to reach Pheriche. Walking further, reach Dingboche for overnight stay. 

Day 13: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m)
Early in the morning, we will follow the escalating path through forest to arrive at bridge. Pass through few tea houses to reach view point. Couple of hours of walk from the view point will take us to Lobouche where we will stay overnight.

Day 14: Lobuche to Goraksep (5140m)
Move through Khumbu glacier and get views of Pumori, Khumutse and Nuptse Mountains. Pass through Thangma Riju to Changri Glacier. We can get first view of Kala Patthar from Glacier. Continuing further, we will arrive at Everest Base Camp. The camp site offers views of Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori Mountains. Return to Gorakshep for overnight stay.

Day 15: Gorakshep to Kalapattar to Lobuche
We will start our trek early in the morning as we do not want to miss sunrise view from Kalapattar. Kalapattar is the best viewpoint of Nepal. From Kalapattar, retrace the route back to Lobuche via Gorakshep.

Day 16: Loboche to Dzong La (4830m)
Climb from moraine valley to the top of the hill. Enjoy the views of Ama Dablam Mountain and Thamserku Mountain. Walk along Cholatse Lake to Dzongla where we will stay overnight.  

Day 17: Dzongla to Dragnag (4700m) via Chola Pass (5360m)
We need to cross one of the three high passes in Everest – Cho La Pass on this day. This is a technical pass. Walk along glacier and enjoy views of Amadablam, Lobuche, Cholatse and Nuptse peaks. Descend from Chola Pass to large village of Dragnag which is also known as Thaknak.    

Day 18: Drangnag to Gokyo (4790m)
Move forward through the Nepal’s largest Nazgumpa Glacier. This is the world’s second largest glacier system. Walk through the slippery path to Gokyo valley. There exists six frozen lakes and towering Gokyo Ri in Gokyo valley. Stay overnight in Gokyo.

Day 19: Gokyo to Machhermo (4470m)
Gokyo Ri is one of the three best view points in Everest. Climb Gokyo Ri and get views of Kusum Kanguru Peak, Gyangchung Kang Peak, Everest, Kantega Peak, Makalu, Changtse, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse and other mountains. Descend to Gokyo and reach Machhermo.   

Day 20: Machhermo to Dole (4110m)
Visit Machhermo Monastery and view the skull of Yeti. Traverse the juniper woods and arrive at Dole where we will stay overnight.

Day 21: Dole to Namche (3440m)
Leaving Dole, we will pass through dispersed settlements at Phortse Thanga and Shanasa to reach Namche Bazaar. It takes about 6hrs of trek to reach Namche from Dole.

Day 22: Namche to Lukla (2827m)
Follow the descending trail from Namche and cross rhododendron forest to arrive at suspension bridge over Dudhkoshi River. Follow the river for few hours and you will reach Phakding. Continue walking through Phakding and you will reach Lukla in couple of hours where you will stay overnight. You can get to see mountain views throughout the trek.  

Day 23: Lukla to Kathmandu Flight 35min, Transfer to Hotel (B.B.)
Due to the weather condition, there exists the chances of flight cancellation in Lukla. If weather remains fine, you will catch early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and arrive at Kathmandu in 30min from where you will be escorted to hotel in Kathmandu. Enjoy the Farewell dinner amid the typical Nepal culture show and stay overnight at a Hotel.

Day 24: Departure!!!
After last minute preparation, you will be accompanied to Tribhuvan International Airport 3hours before the scheduled flight. Safe Journey!!!
