Dudh Kunda or Lake of Milk is located in the mountains of Southern Solukhumbhu directly below the Numbur Mountain Range which falls on the same Everest range. Dudh kunda trek follows off- the- beaten Trail. Known locally as Shorong Yul Lha, Dudhkunda is the holy lake for Hindu and Buddhist where a great fare is organized each year during Janai Purnima which falls on full moon night in august. Taking bath in this lake is said to cleanse sin committed by devotees. 
Participating in Dudh Kunda Cultural Trek is a rewarding experience where you can get the close-up views of lofty Everest, Numbur, Pikey and other mountains. Witness the wildlife in Rhododendron and pine forest.
 
Dudhkunda trekking route passes through untouched Taksindu and Beni where locals are observing their tradition in original form. There are awesome mountain views, cascading waterfalls, serene lakes, blooming Rhododendron forest, locals and migratory birds, floras and faunas and many more. Join this trek in between March to May or September to December for better experience of walking through blooming rhododendron. Entice in the heart-warming hospitality of locals. Dudhkunda trek is one of the least crowded trekking routes. It starts from Phaplu and pass through Salleri, Ringmo, Taksindu and Beni to Dudhkunda. Day 01:
Kathmandu Arrival TIA (1,310m) welcome by Himalayan Nepal Trek staff then Transfer to hotel on B&B plan
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley, Patan, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath then stay at hotel on B&B plan
Day 03:  Kathmandu - Phaplu (2,469m) Flight 35minut Trek around Salleri district of Solukhumbu stay at Lodge
Day 04:  Salleri to Takshindu (3,060m) 5/6 hrs stay at tent
Day 05: Takshindu to Beni (3,972m) 6/7 hrs stay at tent
Day 06:  Beni to Dudhkunda (4,560m) 5 hrs see holy lake, including mount Numbur, karelung many etc  stay at tent
Day 07:  Dudhkunda to Ringmo (2,700m) 6/7 hrs stay at Lodge

BEST SEASON:
Particular season for trekking is in-between March-May and September- November.  March – May which is spring season is highly recommended, weather is clean and favorable, we can see flowers like rhododendron and more Beside Himalayan Nepal trek welcomes you anytime.

Accommodation depends on trek type, weather tea house trek or camping trek we understand the value of comfort of our clients, we put our best to get the best accommodation based on availability since during main season route are very busy and full of tourist. Twin sharing bed will be provided during trek and also can find attach bathroom with charge extra.

FOODING:
Kathmandu; different cuisine as there are many international and continental restaurants. Thamail and Durbarmarg are very famous for Korean, Thai, Japanese and Italian, Nepali Dal Bhat and more. But during the trek we get to select continental, Nepali and Sherpa food from the menu.

EQUIPMENTS:
Equipment is mainly required of adventure sports, peak climbing and high passes but some times due to weather condition we might need some of the equipments like crampons, trekking poles, raincoat, water bottle etc.  So, we request you to carry only need equipments. Equipments include down jacket, trouser Ti-shirt, boot, knife, walking steak, light sleeping bag, sunglass, gloves, suns cream, warm socks, head light, wind proof jacket etc. we provide our staff with their need able equipments. for the safety and security.

SAFTEY AND SECURITY:
Safety is our first priority; our team puts best effort to keep us away from danger. We are always ready to take control over any emergency that might occur in the trail. First aid kit, oxygen bag and eventually emergency rescue via helicopter are always ready in case of an emergency. Besides we also focus on prevention method to control threat, Acclimatization days Gamow bags can be very useful in the trekso that we can prevent from altitude sickness.

Experience required:
Trekking in Himalayas does require certain level of physical fitness and good health. We suggest you to undergo certain exercise like jogging and stretching before you arrive here. Participants having medical health issue are requested to visit the doctor.
 
NOTE:
Days in itinerary are always flexible. The service we provide will be according to guest desire so guest has any query can question us without hesitation. Trekking in Himalayas is challenging, there might be unexpected health problem or natural challenges in middle of the trek,In such case guest are requested to co-operate their guides.
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival (1,310m), Transfer to Hotel (B.B.)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, representative from Himalayan Nepal Trek will receive you. You will be transferred to hotel in Kathmandu with Bed and Breakfast plan. You will get briefing regarding your trek package and then enjoy the delicious welcome meal before spending your night in a hotel. 

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
early in the morning, you will be taking part in Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour. Visit UNESCO enlisted cultural heritage sites of Pashupatinath and Boudhanath including the holy Narayanthan Temple which is also known as Budhanilkantha Temple. Located in a tranquil atmosphere, you can witness the giant form of Lord Vishnu reclining in a snake bed at the middle of lake in Budhanilkantha.

Day 03: Kathmandu- Phaplu (2,469m) Flight, Trek around Salleri
Take 35 minutes of pleasant flight from Kathmandu to Phaplu. Dudhkunda Trek begins at Phaplu. Take an hour of walk to Salleri. We can visit Chewang Monastery and the local market in Salleri. Spend overnight in Salleri.

Day 04: Salleri to Takshindu (3,060m) via Ringmo
Follow the descending trail from Salleri. Couple of hours of walk will take us to Ringmo. Climb the ridge in Ringmo and pass through pretty Sherpa settlements and forest to Takshindu. Cultural show is performed in the evening by locals to welcome the visitors.

Day 05: Takshindu to Beni (3,972m)
Leave Takshindu and hike to Sahasra (3972m). We will follow the scenic path with views of Numbur Mountain, Khatang Mountain, Karyolung Mountain and other peaks and mountains in the background. We will pass through yak farms and monastery to Beni where we will stay overnight.

Day 06: Beni to Dudhkunda (4,560m) 
day we will reach our ultimate destination of Dudhkunda. The trail continues through the glacier. A great fair is observed every year in month of August during Janai Purnima in the holy lake of Dudhkunda during which devotees from Nepal and India visit this place. Migratory birds can be seen on the shores of Dudhpokhari during rainy season. 

Day 07: Dudhkunda to Ringmo (2,700m)
5hrs of walk through the pleasant trail will take us to Ringmo. This place is very special because of beautiful green forest and mountain in the background. Apple wine and yak cheese are popular in Ringmo. Ringmo is a culturally rich Sherpa village.  

Day 08: Ringmo to Phaplu (2,469m)
Leave Ringmo and traverse the forest to reach Takshindo. Sherpa cultural show is available upon request. The trail passes through pasture land that is rich in Himalayan vegetation. Stay overnight at Phaplu.  

Day 09: Phaplu- Kathmandu Flight, Free day in Kathmandu, farewell dinner in evening
early morning flight from Phaplu will take us to Kathmandu 30minutes of scenic mountain flight with views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Langtang and other mountains. You will be transferred to hotel. You can spend the free time on your own. Farewell dinner is served in the evening.
