Dhaulagiri Expedition: Dhaulagiri Name derived from the Sanskrit word “Dhavala” which gives the meaning of White Mountain.Mount Dhaulagiri Rankin position of a seventh highest mountain in the world lies in the northwest of Myagdi district of Nepal. Dhaulagiri with its height of 8167m is unparallel as it rises 7000m over Kali valley with the Horizontal length of 30km.

The British in India during the early 1800s and one of the Indian surveyors sighted this mountain Mapped it in 1873.According to the data, 2007 there have been 358 summit ascents of Dhaulagiri. The first attempt was by Swiss troop in 1960 which was success similarly Japanese climbed in 1970As well as the Italian and American climbed in 1973, 1976 correspondingly.

Dhaulagiri is considered the most appealing peak among the eight thousand meters though only seasoned Mountaineers seem to have interest in the formidable mountain because of its technically challenging routes and lack of commercial expedition.
